Known for its lively nightlife, clubs, pubs, bars and cafés and also its numerous museums, palaces and historical sites, it is no wonder Berlin is one of the top cities to visit in the world! Other than tourist attractions, Berlin is also a major centre for businesses, culture, media and science.

            1: The Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburg is Berlin’s most famous landmark. It’s over 200 years old, and before 1989 used to symbolize the division between Berlin and the rest of the country. Today however, it’s a symbol of unity for Germany and is once again integrated into the recently designed Pariser Platz.
            2: Checkpoint Charlie
Few sites in Berlin recall the dark era of the division between the east and the west of the city. Together with the Berlin Wall Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie is a symbol of a time when Germany was a divided country. Most foreign tourists head for the former border-crossing at Friedrichstrasse that once divided Kreuzberg (west) from Mitte (east).
            3: Jewish museum
Long before this infamous Jewish museum had even been opened; it drew much worldwide attention which made it one of the top tourist sites in the country. It displays a 2000 year history of Jews in Germany, and the role the Jewish people have played in the modern day Germany.
            4: Alexanderplatz
Named after a former Russian tsar (Alexander I), the area became considerably poorer during the industrialization. Between 1966 and 1970 the plaza developed into Berlin’s downtown centre, and till today gives you the feeling of a busy city life, with a very cosmopolitan atmosphere.
            5: Berlin Cathedral
Built from 1895 – 1905, Berlin Cathedral is the largest Protestant church in Germany. It served as the main Prussian Protestant church, as well as a court church during the reign of the Hohenzollerns.
            6: Charlottenburg Palace
The Charlottenburg Palace is just a few minutes from the West-City, and holds the title as the largest palace ground in Berlin. The construction of the beautiful palace, took up to a hundred years to complete, and today the palace holds many cultural importance’s for Berlin.
            7: Dorotheenstadt Cemetery
The cemetery was constructed in 1762, and continued to grow until 1826. Many famous German politicians, writers, composers and artists are buried in the cemetery, including Heinrich Mann, Bertolt Brecht, Johannes R. Becher, Arnold Zweig, and Anna Seghers.
            8: Gendarmenmarkt
One of the prettiest plaza’s in Europe, Gendarmenmarkt has a unique charm that can be felt the minute you step foot on it. The symmetrical buildings on either side of Schauspielhaus, gives the magnificent plaza a very imperial feel.
            9: KaDeWe
This is the largest department store in Europe, and has been in business for more than a hundred years! It has 7 floors in total and boasts up to 3 million products, from jewelry to clothing, luggage, home wares, furniture, food etc… you name it KaDeWe has it.
            10: German Historical Museum
The museum has more than 8000 exhibits, which covers approximately 2000 years of German history. The exhibits have historically significant objects, which ranges anywhere from clothing, paintings, posters, books, furniture and much more!
